Privacy policy
GOAL SMASH is a mobile arcade game published by Goh Kian Yew Nicholas ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game and its service providers collect, why, and the choices you have. You do not need an account, email address or real name to play.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Who handles it |
|---|---|---|
| The leaderboard name you type (up to 10 characters), your scores and the stage they were set on | To show the online leaderboard | Google Firebase (database) |
| A random 8-character save code created by the game, and your best score for each stage you have completed | To back up your progress privately, so you can restore completed stages and best scores after a reinstall or on a new phone. It is not shown on any leaderboard. | Google Firebase (database) |
| A random anonymous player ID created by the game | To tell players apart without an account, so each of you keeps one best score per stage | Google Firebase (authentication) |
| How the game is used: stages played, scores, time left, power-ups collected, whether you opened the share screen or the paywall; app version, device model, operating system version, language and approximate location derived from your IP address | To improve the game and fix problems | Google Firebase (analytics) |
| Crash reports | To find and fix crashes | Google Firebase (Crashlytics) |
| Advertising data: your device's advertising identifier, IP address and ad interactions, where your settings and local law allow | To show ads on the free stages and measure them | Google AdMob |
| Whether you own the stages 6-10 unlock (the product, the purchase status and your anonymous ID). We never see your card or payment details. | To switch off ads and unlock stages, including after a reinstall | Apple App Store or Google Play, and RevenueCat |
What stays on your phone
- Your best scores, your sound on/off choice and similar settings are saved on your device.
- The goal picture and score card are created on your phone and held only in memory. They are cleared when you leave the results screens. They reach your photos or another app only if you choose Save or Share. We do not receive them.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location.
Ads and your choices
Free stages show banner ads from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, the game asks for your consent before ads that use your data are shown, and on iPhone it asks for permission before tracking. You can change these choices in the game's consent settings where offered, and at any time in your phone's settings (on iPhone: Privacy & Security, then Tracking; on Android: Settings, then Google, then Ads). Buying the unlock removes the ads.
Why we use this data
To run the leaderboard and the game (our contract with you), to measure and improve the game and keep it secure (our legitimate interests), and to show ads or measure purchases where you have consented or the law allows. Where consent is the basis, you can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers named above, who process data for us or for the purposes described. We do not sell your personal information. Providers may keep data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Their own policies apply to what they do as independent controllers, for example Google, Apple and RevenueCat.
How long we keep it
- Leaderboard entries stay until you ask us to remove them or the leaderboard is reset.
- Your save code backup stays until you ask us to delete it. Anyone who knows your code can restore your progress, so keep it to yourself.
- Analytics and crash data are kept for 14 months or less.
- Purchase records are kept by the stores and RevenueCat for as long as needed to honour your purchase and meet their legal duties.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, the EU and UK GDPR and California law, you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold, object to some uses, or complain to your data protection authority. To delete a leaderboard entry or anything tied to your anonymous player ID, email support@goalsmash.io with your leaderboard name and the stage. Because the game has no accounts, we may ask you to show the entry is yours, for example by naming a score you set.
Children
GOAL SMASH is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in places where a higher age applies. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
